Throughout the spring 2021 semester, Mizzou Esports and MizzouRec are teaming up to provide virtual competition opportunities for Mizzou students. These tournaments will be in various games throughout the semester, with a full schedule coming soon.

How to Play

  • This tournament is now full, and registration is closed. Stay tuned for future updates other tournaments.

Rules:

  • Registration from 1/29-2/2
  • A total of 16 competitors will be allowed into the tournament on a first-come, first-served basis based on registration time.
  • All games will be played as unrated games on chess.com. Players must create a free account on chess.com to participate if they do not already have one. 
  • The randomly-seeded Single Elimination Bracket will begin 2/3 at 6:00PM CST
  • Players should report to their matches within 10 minutes of the announcement that their match is ready. If a player fails to report, they will be disqualified. Matches will be announced as soon as both players complete their previous match in the bracket. 
  • Matches preceding the semi-finals and final will be best of 1. The semi-final and final matches will be best of 3.
  • In the event of a stalemate or draw players will play a 5 minute game to decide a winner. If a stalemate or a draw happens in the 5 minute game then players will play 3 minute games until a winner is declared.
  • The winner of the tournament will receive a Mizzou Rec Champion T-Shirt.
  • Mizzou Esports staff reserves the right to make changes to the rules as needed. 

In-Game Settings:

  • All Matches will be played under the standard format with a 10 minute time control.

Participants must be a Mizzou student with a valid Mizzou ID and email address.
