TSM has announced the launch of a new program called TSM University. This program is intended to help Collegiate Esports Athletes or even those just starting out in making connections and gaining some ground in the task of breaking into Esports.

This initiative is targeted towards fans, those looking to get into Esports-based work, and the potential future professional players. For more in-depth information, those interested can check out the official “Welcome to TSM-U” video on the TSMU youtube channel.

Allie Hahe, creator of the TSM-U program states in the video that “One of the most common questions I get asked is, ‘How do you get into esports?”, she follows this stating that, “In this industry, there has historically been a lack of a clear path on how to get involved, so it can be challenging for those who are interested in this business to even get started. This is why we created TSMU. We want to lead the way in creating new opportunities in the space, as well as providing education and insight for those looking to learn how they can work in the space.”

There are a lot of ways to get involved in esports at more of a local level such as getting involved with teams at local schools and even your own university may have a club or varsity program that participates in esports competition.

However, the gap between going from something like university or high school teams to a professional organization has always been a fairly abstract process that involves making connections with the right people or being good enough to get into the public eye and be noticed by the right people.

It can often be a difficult question to answer when you are asked about how to make that step because it often boils down to just getting even better at the game and getting yourself noticed. Especially for those who don’t have the kind of connections that allow you to easily contact someone with the influence to help bring you into the professional esports scene.

TSM-U can be a potential clear step that people can use to help bridge this gap and be in a community that naturally has a stronger professional esports connection. Students that manage to grow in TSM-U may find themselves making the connections they were initially missing and being able to find and correct any issues they may be hindering their ability to make that next step.

It should be said that simply joining TSM-U will not guarantee everyone a pro spot. But it is hard to deny that with all of the help TSM-U can provide players, most will definitely be able to find some way to grow and develop while stepping forward towards their goal.

TSM-U will provide multiple ways of supporting growth and learning in the Esports community by hosting events such as career panels, Q&A sessions with industry professionals, tournaments, and even possible internship and career-building opportunities.

TSMU is a completely free to join program that can be found through the link to the official discord server that acts as the main hub for TSM-U at https://discord.gg/TSMU.

If you are aspiring to break into Esports whether as a player or by working in the industry as a whole or even if you’re just a hardcore esport or TSM fan, TSMU may just be the place for you to find that next step towards your goal and be the chance you have been waiting for.
